Origin and History
English Springer Spaniels are believed to have originated in Spain and were probably migrated to other parts of the world by Romans or via trading ships. These dogs were mentioned in Welsh law as early as 300 AD.
During the 19th century, an English Springer Spaniel was imported by a Canadian breeder and ten years later, the breed had become the most popular breeds registered by the American Kennel Club. The parent club of the breed was formed in 1924 in the United States.
