Pecans
Pecans also contain aflatoxins and juglone, toxins that result in convulsions or seizures and are harmful to dogs and horses. This nut falls into the walnuts category that has mycotoxins, which are known to damage the liver in dogs. Overall, pecans aren’t safe for dogs so avoid this nut as a treat. Likewise, Hazelnuts and hickory nuts also contain mycotoxins and juglone so exclude this from treat as well.
Sign of Nut Allergies or Nut Poisoning In Dog
After 12 hours of nuts ingestion, you may notice signs of nut allergy or poisoning if your dog has any. Signs like seizures, weakness, muscle tremors and others are seen after its consumption.
