The American English Coonhounds are also called the English Coonhound or Redtick Coonhound. It is a direct descendant of the English Foxhound. After the Foxhounds were brought to the United States by early settlers in the 1600s. Hunters used them to develop a new breed that had the size, stamina, and strength to hunt the fox.
