The Yorkipoo is a small-sized designer dog that is also known as Yorkiepoopoo, Yorkapoo, Yorkerpoo, Yoodle, Yorkiedoodle or Porki. It is created by the cross-breeding of the Yorkshire Terrier and the Poodle. He makes a delightful companion with a family as it is a fun-loving and entertaining dog.

Yorkipoo can resemble one parent more than the other like any other designer breeds. It has a silky soft coat that can be slightly wavy sometimes. They have a charming appearance with round brown eyes. The ears are either upright or hanging down that is covered with a bit long feather. Due to their small size and friendly nature, they make an excellent pet in a family.

Origin and History

The Yorkipoo is a recent breed that may not even have crossed a decade. The breeding purpose of this breed is to get the best traits of the Yorkshire Terrier and the Poodle. There is not much history of the Yorkipoo but we can look at the history of its parents.

The Yorkshire Terrier is originated somewhere in the mid-1800s. It was developed to control rats and vermin in the clothing mills. It was very popular among the people of the working group and they also kept it as a family pet.

The Poodle is originated in French and was especially used for hunting waterfowl. It was first developed as a miniature and later breeders start creating a toy version of it. The American Kennel Club registered the Poodle in 1886.

Yorkipoo is a child-friendly dog as they are very playful, loving, and also they adore children. However, due to their small size and energetic nature, they may not be suitable for toddlers and small children.
