If you want a dog, who is cute, furry and entertaining then this breed may be right for you. But if you don’t want to deal with someone who has their own mind set, then this breed may not be right for you.

The poodles should never be treated harshly as they will simply stop listening to you. They are sensitive dogs and want to live in peace. If your house is full of chaos, your poodle might get unnecessary stress.

The smaller poodle can be aggresive to other people or even other dogs. They should have early socialization to other people and pets to avoid early temper.

Poodles are highly trainable as they pick up patterns quickly and don’t require much treats and rewards. Compared to other dogs house-training is a breeze for poodles. Poodles are known for their intelligence.

Breeds of Poodles love learning new things and please their owners. They are one of the most alert dogs and can sense strangers of anything so quick within their percieved territory. Their personality, however, depends on what kind of owner you are, the type of home he lives in or how much time he gets.

There are many misconceptions about the poodle dogs as they seem to be cute and tiny. This is the first reason that many people want to own them because of their toy like structure. Toy poodles are small and can be adjusted in apartments. But larger poodles needs more space to play and exercise.

Please keep in mind that, only standard poodles are best to keep with family and children. Miniature poodles tends to be high strung and not suitable for families with children. Standard poodles are gentle and sweet natured and are excellent playmates for children.


Poodles love playing around the house and meeting new people. They can be friendly and play with the people even if they have just met. However, if you are busy on your own and don’t spend much time with your little poodle, then they might feel neglected and will become bored which leads to destruction.

Are Poodles Good With Children?

Poodles can be your children best friend as they love being around anybody. Poodles tend to like older children more as they can entertain them and play along. However, untrained poodles can be aggressive and may harm when they are bored. Make sure they get enough entertainment and exercise.
