Goberian personality, temperament, and behavior

The Goberian is a beautiful blend of the handsome Siberian Husky and the Labrador Retriever. The appearance depends on the genes it has obtain for both of its parents. It can either have a long muzzle like Siberian Husky or short and broad like Golden Retriever. The ears are either erect or falling down on the cheeks.

The Goberian is not suitable for an inexperienced dog owner. It is best suited for an active dog owner who can take them out regularly for exercise. They are very friendly, alert, affectionate dog that makes a great family companion.

Temperament, Behavior, and Personality

Temperament: The temperament of the Goberian is mixed where it has the loyal, intelligent nature of Golden Retriever and dominant, territorial nature of Siberian Husky. The mix of both breeds temperament makes it an excellent dog that protects its family and watchful of their property.

Behavior: The Goberian is a very active dog that needs heavy physical and mental exercise. If they do not get all the required exercise from their owner, they become very destructive and depressed. They need mental challenges for mental stimulation.

Personality: The personality of the Goberian is friendly, playful, and loving. They love their family very much and see one particular person on the family as their leader.

They are good with other pets in the house as well and are welcoming of the visitors and guest in the house after a proper introduction.

Is Goberian Child-Friendly?

Goberian gets along with children very well and makes a great playing companion for them. They are gentle with kids and are tolerant of their harsh behavior.

Although teaching your kids to behave around dogs and be gentle with them. While taking them out always keep them on the leash as they might knock over small kids while playing. Elder’s supervision is always needed to avoid any harsh behavior from either party.

Trainability

Training Goberian is not hard, as they are intelligent and eager to please their master. They need a consistent leader who can train them with patient and firmness. They tend to respond well to positive methods of training, so reward them with lots of delicious treats and vocal praises. Once basic training is completed, enroll them in agility training.

  • The one eye of the Goberian can be blue that it obtains from Siberian Husky.
  • It is not recognized by AKC or any other major Kennel Club yet.

Health Issues

The Goberian can inherit some of the genetic health problems from its parent breeds.

  • Deafness: Your Goberian can inherit deafness which can affect its day to day life. However, it will not have any effect on other health of your dog and it can live a healthy life. There are many hearing aids in the market that you can get for your dog to make its life easy.
  • Hip Dysplasia: The condition where your dog’s hip joints are either dislocated or underdeveloped is called hip dysplasia. It is mostly genetic that your dog inherits from its parent breeds. Therefore, make sure to check the health report of the dog before buying it.
