Pug-Zu is a small-sized dog breed that is the mixture of two beautiful purebred dogs: Pug and Shih Tzu. They are an extremely adorable dog that makes a great family companion. They have unique personality traits that are adopted from their parent breeds.

It is small in size with a mix appearance of the Pug and the Shih Tzu. The face is either like a Pug with a black patch on the face or like Shih-Tzu with beautiful feathery head

Pug-Zu has a curious and friendly disposition which makes it an excellent family companion. It is an adaptable dog that does not need a big space and apartment life is best for them. They also, do not need an experienced dog owner and can do well even with a loving novice dog owner.

The temperament of the Pug-Zu is sweet, loyal, devoted, loving, and playful. They are very much devoted towards their people as they are very dependant dog that fully depends on its people.

They are loyal to all the family members but forms a strong bond with one particular person that they see as the leader. They get along with every member of the family including strangers, so they cannot be trusted as a guard dog or a watchdog.

Pug-Zu is a very curious dog breed that is always running here and there at the scent or sight of some interesting stuff. Therefore, they need to be kept on a leash while taking them out for a walk. They need to be the center of attention in the family, so if they are not given enough attention, they tend to get depressed and destructive.

Never leave them alone all by themselves for a long period of time as they might face separation anxiety.

The personality of the Pug-Zu is sweet, playful, affectionate, and smart. They are very fond of their people and enjoy spending time with them. They are very playful which makes them a great family companion even in the house with children. It has a delightful personality which makes them a great choice for a family that is looking for a companion dog.

Training Pug-Zu is not a tough task to do as they are very smart dogs that tend to catch on new commands and instruction quickly. Use positive methods of training by rewarding them with delicious treats and lots of vocal praises.

Never be harsh on them as they might get scared and will not be able to focus on the training. Start from obedience training from their very early age, so it becomes an obedient adult when it grows up.

Is Pug-Zu Child-Friendly?

Yes, Pug-Zu is a child-friendly dog that gets along with children very well. They are loving and gentle towards them and are very playful which makes them great playmates. Although elderly supervision is always needed so there is no harsh behavior from either party. Always teach your kids to behave around dogs and be gentle with them.

What Makes Pug-Zu Aggressive?

Pug-Zu is not at all an aggressive dog breed but is very gentle and loving. They are a very friendly dog that tends to get along with everyone including intruders! So, they are not known to be an aggressive dog breed unless they are raised in a harsh environment.

How Does Pug-Zu Behave Around Strangers?

Pug-Zu is welcoming and very friendly with strangers due to which they are not the best watchdog. If there are some strangers in the area, they tend to wag their tail instead of barking at them. They will go and lick them instead of becoming aware of them. Therefore, it is not a good idea to leave your Pug-Zu alone to guard the property.
