Indian Pariah dog which is also known as the Indian native dog is a medium-sized canine. It is a pariah-type dog that evolves through natural selection.
The name of this breed is often used to mention all the urban South Asian stray dogs. However, stray dogs do not match the pariah-type and are more of the mixed dogs rather than pure indigenous dogs.

The Indian Pariah dog is one of the oldest dog breeds that are found all over India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and also beyond South Asia. This breed was developed through natural selection rather than selective breeding.
It is called ‘Desi Kutta’ which means native dogs by the people of Pakistan and Northern India. While the Bengali named them ‘Neru Kutta’ and in Nepal, it is named ‘Bhusiya Kurkur’.
The line of Pariah dog is not pure due to admixture with European dog breeds. However, there are still many purebred Pariah dogs that have the breed standard which is recognized by the Indian Kennel Club and the Primitive and Aboriginal Dog Society.
